I was extremely honored to be chosen as the 2005 WeHo Award Ourstanding Popular Male Personality. Upon receiving said award, I considered it my mission to raise public awareness of the WeHo Awards and their raison d'etre .
The annual WeHo Awards honor outstanding achievements in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community of the Greater Los Angeles area. Please visit the WeHo Awards 2006 website to learn more about the 6th Annual WeHo Awards, and to show your support.
"Yes", I am again once again nominated in the Outstanding Popular Male category and "Yes" your vote of confidence is appreciated, but, that's not all that I mean when I ask you to show your support. If you know me. Really know me, you are aware that I love to support, produce, he'll even create fundraisers when I believe in the cause. It is important that you know that although the WeHo Awards may, at first glance, appear like a celebrity or popularity contest. At it's core, it is a celebration of achievements involving our community, as a whole, however, it is also a fundraiser.
The 2006 beneficiary is the L.A Gay & Lesbian Center (LAGLC). The LAGLC, currently celebrating their 35th year anniversary, is an organization that provides a broad array of services for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, welcoming nearly a quarter million client visits from ethnically diverse your and adults each year. Through its Jeffrey Goodman Special Care Clinic and on-site pharmacy, the Center offers free and low-cost health, mental health, HIV/AIDS medical care and HIV/STD testing and prevention. The Center also offers legal, social, cultural, and educational services, with unique programs for seniors, families and youth, including a 24-bed transitional living program for homeless youth. Now, if you happen to... Hey, pay attention, because this is very important. In conclusion, I won't let you forget that I've been nommed for Outstanding Popular Male Personality and that it is imperative that your cast your vote for Jonathan Chang. Otherwise, bars and clubs may go out of business. The economy will be affected. Inclement weather will be the norm.
